Jaén
Environmental Situation
There are registered ozone exceedances between April and September due to the high values of solar radiation and the high temperatures in summer. The PM10 exceedances appear too, due to human and natural circumstances.
Because of the geographical situation of Jaén, it is very usual frequent episodes of particle intrusion, proceeding from the Sahara.
Since the analysis of the emission inventory on the Jaén province, it is possible to obtain the whole pollutant emission, and the main activity sectors responsible for the same ones:
- NOx (1.500 t/y): road transport (71%) and agriculture (10%).
- PM (450 t/y): Oil industries (54%) and road transport (24%).
- COVNM (2.700 t/y): solvent and other product use (30%), agriculture (24%) and biogenic (18%).
- CH4 (4.300 t/y): Solid waste disposal (71%) and liquid waste disposal (16%).
- SO2 (140 t/y): Non metallic minerals industries (28%), Agriculture (26%) and food industries (15%).
