Córdoba
Environmental Situation
There are registered ozone exceedances between April and September due to the high values of solar radiation and the high temperatures in summer. The PM10 exceedances appear too, due to human and natural circumstances.
Because of the geographical situation of Córdoba, it is very usual frequent episodes of particle intrusion, proceeding from the Sahara.
Since the analysis of the emission inventory on the Córdoba province, it is possible to obtain the whole pollutant emission, and the main activity sectors responsible for the same ones:
- NOx (5.900 t/y): road transport (55%) and Portland Cement, Lime and Gypsum manufacturing (24%).
- PM (790 t/y): road transport (37%), and agriculture (16%).
- COVNM (10.600 t/y): Agriculture (24%), solvent and other product use (21%), and petrochemical industries (15%).
- CH4 (3.200 t/y): Livestock (34%), solid waste disposal (33%), and agriculture (11%).
- SO2 (580 t/y): Extractive and mineral processing (27%), food industries (19%) and Non metallic minerals industries (19%).
