Air Quality Assessment
The air quality measuring network of Amsterdam currently has 12 measuring stations. The network has
a health related scope. Since the late 90's of last century we measure continuously (next to CO, SO2,
PM10 and NO2) PM2.5, PM1, Condensation Particle Counting (CPC), and Black Smoke.
Since 2007 Amsterdam uses an offline Elementary and Organic Carbon analyser.
Furthermore, we measure the NO2 concentration on about 200 spots with diffusive samplers.
The network has an ISO 17025 accreditation and also takes care of a dozen other measuring stations for authorities
in the region, such as the Provence of North Holland.
Next to measuring the air quality each year we also calculate the quality of the air in our city.
These(obligatory) calculations refer to motorised road traffic and cover the main roads in the whole of Amsterdam.
Detailed results of these calculations can be found here (in Dutch)
